“Funk Rhythm Guitar” – Ross Bolton

    Lesson was great – short but great – a tease for sure. The teacher doesn’t match the style of play. Come out of the eighties! It’s 2008.

    this video was made in the 80s lol ross was my teacher in 1989 hes great. he toured the world with al jerrau for years funkest player ,ive ever heard

    Yeah, I had this guy as a teacher in LA. He used to make you play behind and in front of the beat which is actually really hard to do consistently. I learned a lot!!

    Ex.21, he starts with a cool sliding G9 chord. Not alot of players unfamiliar with funk know that chord. I learned it from a Prince lesson in Guitar Player magazine. He uses it alot.
